Nutrition

I'm currently studying a Canine Nutrition Diploma so I can help dogs feel & move better .... even more.

As well as musculoskeletal conditions, tummy and skin issues are common reason why pet parents take their dogs to the vet.

What our dogs eat on a daily basis affects the whole body - not just the gut - even if their tummy appears to be functioning ok.  Google "dog microbiome" and you'll start to learn some fascinating things!

What we eat ourselves & what we feed our pets is often a hot topic .... everyone has an opinion and it can be divisive.  There is almost too much choice and conflicting information, which can make things confusing.

My job isn't to judge, preach or make people feel bad about what they're feeding their dogs.

My approach will be to work with you and your dog on finding the right solution that suits you, your circumstances & most importantly your dog's health.

This page is work in progress, so check back for updates. :-)

I can't give specific nutrition advice just yet, but I can provide some general good health advice.  If you have specific queries, please contact me & I can point you in the right direction.  In the meantime ....

As part of my studies I've developed the following handouts - if you'd like a copy, contact me and I will send them to you for free.

  • Dehydration in Dogs - What is it, Causes & What to Look Out for

  • Selenium - What is it, Why Important & How to Consume it.

  • Secondary Hyperparathyroidism - What is it, the causes, Symptoms & Implications.
